Is this the front of the new Ferrari F70 (Enzo II)?

A picture, probably from a reunion or a special event, showed up in a Facebook page called F70Ferrari with a vehicle that looks like the Ferrari Enzo replacement. The name isn't known yet but we will call it F70 for now.

 

No more details have been revealed but my guess is it won't take long untill the car is presented to the public, maybe when Ferrari's Facebook page hits 10 million fans.

No news today. It was for a good reason.

As you can see there were some changes taking place, so there was no time to write any new articles, and for that i apologize. What does it take to design and build a truck? Volvo Trucks design team tells us how they did it [Video]

 

All of us who like vehicles of all types, also find interesting how they are created and how they go from a simple drawing to the final form. And the guys all Volvo Trucks showed us how they do it.

Creating a car is not easy and a truck is even worse. It is a huge design challenge to create lines that are both attractive and functional. According to Rikard Orell, Design Director at Volvo Trucks, “Coming up with solutions where design and function go hand-in-hand was one of our most important tasks” and "The design challenge we were given was to create something that was exciting and fresh, while at the same time retaining and carrying over all those elements that were so highly appreciated in the previous model"

It was a process that took over 5 years where everything was checked, from the sound and feel of every button, plastics and textiles to how each part is connected with each other on the inside and outside, and many meetings and decisions later we get the final product.

Fourth recall for the 2013 Ford Escape. Fusion also gets recalled

The 2013 Escape and Fusion equipped with the 1600cc engine were the target of a voluntary recall due to the risk of a fire starting in the engine. The reason of the overheating is still unknown but the dealerships will provide rental cars at no additional charge.

The recall affects 73.320 Escapes and 15.833 Fusions across the U.S.A. and Canada. Ford has acknowledged the problem and said the following about it:

 

"We have identified an issue and are taking actions in the best interest of our customers, Steve Kenner, director of Ford’s automotive safety office, said in a statement. “It is important that affected customers not ignore this recall and contact their dealer as soon as possible. While we recognize the inconvenience recalls cause our customers, we are taking these actions on their behalf to help ensure their safety."

The story behind the first Volvo C30 Polestar limited edition [Video]

Back in September Volvo finally announced a special limited edition of the C30 Polestar, but it isn't the actual C30 Polestar Concept we got to see and that you can see in the picture above, it is a "normal" C30 with a litle bump in power and torque. That one you can see below.

The C30 Polestar Performance Concept Prototype had 400hp, but this limited edition "only" has 250hp and 370Nm (273lb/ft) connected to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. It also has the R-Design body kit and the same blue with 17inch Styx black wheels.

This edition is limited to 250 units and the videio below is about the number one delivered in the USA. It also tells a little bit about Polestar and Volvo history.

Mercedes-Benz Arocs. New heavy duty work truck range

 

With presentation schedule to April 2013, at the Bauma trade fair in Germany, Mercedes has revealed a few images of its new truck lineup for construction and on/off-road applications.

The new vehicles comply with the Euro-6 standard and will be available has dump trucks, all-wheel drive dump trucks, concrete mixers, tractor units and drop-side construction-site delivery chassis vehicles available as two, three and four-axle models. In the engine department, Mercedes will have available 16 power outputs from 238 to 625hp from four Blutec 6 engines displacing 7,7, 10,7, 12,8 and 15,6litres respectively with the latter being the all-new OM 473 engine with a maximum torque of 3.000Nm.

All those engines will be connected to Mercedes PowerShift 3 automated transmission especially configured for a tougher use.

The drive configurations available right from the factory goes from 4x2 two-axle versions with rear-wheel drive to the 8x8/4, a four-axle rigid with all-wheel drive to two steering front axles. Four-axle versions with one front and three rear axles, a wide range of air-sprung vehicles, or a load-optimised concrete-mixer chassis with single-tyred drive tandem.

Mercedes will have 6 cabins available in 14 different versions with 2,3m wide, there will also be a 2,5m version with a level cab floor.

The radiator grille has what is called 'bucket-teeth' look, which looks like the teeth normally found in an excavator. This is what Mercedes had to say about that, "It sends a clear message: the sturdy 'teeth' stand for biting one's way through and knuckling down to the job. Steel elements on the bumpers, a robust radiator guard and optically integrated construction-specific folding entry step harmonise form and function for the hard-work specialist."

There will be two new product groups 'Loader' and 'Grounder'. The first has a low kerb weight capable of carrying big loads, while the second is designed to operate under extremely difficult conditions in safe conditions.

Are these patents of the Audi RS1? They look like the A1 Quattro

 

Seems Mazda is not the only one with patent drawings beeing revealed this week. This time Audi got several images from a more sporty looking A1, possibly the A1 Qauttro or the RS1, leaked to the internet from the European trademark office database.

On the outside the car looks almost equal to the A1 Qauttro concept revealed some time ago, with the exception of the five-spoke rims used in other RS models.

The A1 Quattro had a turbocharged 2.0liter four-cylinder engine producing 256hp (188kW or 252bhp) and 350Nm (258lb/ft). Another alternative could be the 2.5liter five-cylinder engine used in the TT-RS, with less power.
