Jaguar C-X75 will not be produced.

It is a sad day for all lovers of cars because this is the day Jaguar announced the C-X75 will never see the light of day. The goal was to build 250 units, with production beginning next year and a price of around €1.240.000 ($1.610.000 or £1.000.000), but that will not happen.

The reason? The current global economic situation. Bad excuse in my opinion, i am sure that there are 250 people in the world with enough money to buy it. But Jaguar said they no longer could make an “adequate return on investment”.

It would have been spectacular to see the Jaguar fight the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1 and the Ferrari F70. The motor would be a four cylinder turbocharged and supercharged 1.6liter, instead of the jet engine, producing 500bhp together with two electric engines each weighing only 26kg with the size of one cylinder and producing 400Nm (295lb/ft). In total, the car would have 900Nm (663lb/ft) of torque and around 900hp, meaning it would take only 2,8 seconds to reach 100km/h and a top speed of 330km/h (205mph).

The liquid and air-cooled battery was considered to be "revolutionary” with a range of 97km (60miles), needing 17 radiators to keep everything fresh. But even if the car is not produced, much of its technology will be utilized in future vehicles, like the batteries, the electric engine and the small capacity engine.

The car will continue to be developed until May next year and Jaguar is going to produce only five units. Two or three will be sold in auction and the others will go the Jaguar museum and for demonstrations.

Jaguar F-Type new styling packages in the Los Angeles Auto Show

Customization is not exactly a new thing in the automotive world but car manufacturers are slowly offering more choices to personalize your vehicle right from the factory.

Jaguar is an example of that by announcing new styling packages for the new F-Type. On the outside of this F-type painted in Firesand, one of several new colors available, we have the Black and Design packages, meaning that the splitter, side sills and rear diffuser have the same color as the body and the grille, vents, front splitter and rear valance get a satin black finish.

On the inside there is the Black package that gives a glossy black finish to the instrument cluster rings, as well as a black trim to the steering wheel, air vents and door switch surrounds.

Jaguar’s Engineered To Order (ETO) division is responsible for those changes as well as the ones made to the XKR-S and XFR-S.

Jaguar officially presented the XFR-S. Looks amazing!

Jaguar finally unveiled the new XFR-S. It is the most powerful and the most radical looking version of the XF that will premiere later today (In Portugal it is already November 28) in the Los Angeles Motor Show.

The engine is a 5.0liter supercharged V8 delivering 550hp and 680Nm, which is 40hp and 55Nm higher than the XFR. It does 0 to 100km/h (0 to 62mph) in just 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 300km/h (186mph). The new aerodynamic package, including a new front bumper, side skirts, rear diffuser and a huge rear wing allow for a 70 percent increase in downforce. The XFR-S will also have some especially designed wheels.

Price isn't known yet and only 200 will be sold in the USA, for the rest of the world that number is unknown.

The LA Motor Show will host the world premiere of the Jaguar XFR-S

Jaguar released two pictures with only part of the front and the rear spoiler of "the fastest and most powerful saloon Jaguar has ever produced"that will see the spotlight for the first time in L.A. later in the month.

The vehicle was spotted several times around Nürburgring and it was fast but technical details are still unknown but we guess it will have the same engine that its in the XKR-S, the supercharged V8 with 550bhp. We will have to wait for the Los Angeles Motor Show to confirm this, se keep tuned.

Jaguar and Land Rover will share platforms

Both companies are looking for ways to reduce the number of platforms they use and to achieve that objective they will share two or three platforms and it will serve 70 or 80% of the vehicles sold.

Land Rover currently uses four different platforms, Defender, Freelander/Evoque, Discovery/Range Rover Sport and Range Rover, while Jaguar uses three, XF, XK, XJ.

Jaguar and Land Rover are looking at VW's MQB platform for an example but Jaguar’s global brand director, Adrian Hallmark said: “it won’t happen overnight. VW’s MQB platform will take seven years to roll out across the models it will underpin”. Both brands already share many different components, like the infotainment system, seats and drive-trains.
