Wunderlich “MadUSA”. Built from a BMW S1000RR

Wunderlich, which is the American distributor for German aftermarket parts, joined BMW Motorcycles of San Francisco to create this amazing beast. And why is it called "MadUSA" (pictured above)? Wunderlich first created the Mad Max (pictured below), which had Continental TKC 80, in Germany, but to sell it in the States they kept the Mad and added the USA for an obvious reason.

Basically this bike is a BMW S1000RR with about €12.500 ($17.000) of extras, not counting labor and painting. But for that price you get an Öhlins FRRT 811 fork, TTX shock, Sportego Bar Conversion Kit, Piranha Conversion Kit (bodywork), Remus exhaust system, among many other expensive parts.

Yet the engine is unmodified. It produces 173hp at around 13.000rpm and has a maximum torque value of 103Nm (76lb/ft) at 10.550rpm. This is good for a top speed of 285km/h or 177mph if you live in the U.S.A..

The challenge taken by the BMW Motorrad development department was pretty big, they had to make the previous GS, which is the most successful travel enduro in the world with 170.000 units sold, even better, and they believe they did it. Check the video below.

BottPower BOTT XR1 is made from spare Buell parts

 

After waiting for almost 2 years, the Spanish company BottPower finally finished the BOTT XR1, a custom motorcycle made for, and imagined by Ramón Bellosta.

The engine is an air-cooled v-twin motor borrowed from a Buell XB with around 100hp for a bike that which weighs close to 170kg (375lb), so you know it will be agile and fast. The style is a little bit old school, with the flat track, even if it has a lot of carbon fiber to make it look sportier and also lighter.

 

Let's get technical. The front fork, the silencer and the eight pistons brake caliper all come from a Buell 1125. ISR levers for the front brake and the clutch with an Öhlins rear shock, a flat handlebar from Easton and a Motogadget display. It will also be available as a kit for the Buell.

2013 Honda CBR600RR will not continue to be overlooked

Seems the almost 5 year old Honda CBR600RR will get a refresh for 2013 (about time), including new fairings, allowing for a six percent reduction in drag, a fine-tuned ram-air system to increase torque in the midrange on the 599cc engine.

Other changes include a revised ECU, a new “Big Piston” fork and retuned rear shock, new 12-spoke wheels and there's a version with the “Electronic Combined Anti-Lock Braking System” (C-ABS).

The colors available are Red, Repsol Edition, & White/Blue/Red and the price isn't known yet, but expect it to be a little higher over the 2012 version.

2013 Bimota DB11 and DB11 VLX - Another fantastic machines from Italy

The Italians continue to design some good looking machines and Bimota isn't an exception. Even if the aspect of the bike hasn't change for a while it sill looks distinctive and garage worthy.

Bimota will sell 2 versions of the DB11, a more basic version with a 1198cc Ducati Testastretta engine producing 162hp (160bhp or 119kW) and 131Nm (97lb/ft), the fully adjustable forks come from Marzocchi while the adjustable rear shock is from Extreme Tech, and a VLX version with the same engine but with a Sprintex dual-screw supercharger putting out 191hp (188bhp or 140kW) and 142Nm (105lb/ft) but the rear and front suspension is made by Öhlins. Both use Brembo brakes and the exhaust system is made by Athena but designed by Bimota. The weight will be close to 181kg (400lbs).

Price will be well over €15.500 or $20.000.

 

 

2013 Honda CBR500R. Not exciting at all, still cool.

The CBR500R follows ups the introduction of the CB500F and the CB500X, saturating the 500c market with several proposals that are basically the same bike. They are all based in an unpretentious liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, DOHC, 180° crank, 54 bhp (in the USA, in other countries it will have 47bhp) engine.

Cool bikes for those of you who aren't really passionate about bikes or are getting into the bike world for the first time. The X will be a little taller and heavier but they all weigh around 195kg (430lbs). They will all cost around €4200 to €4600 ($5500 to $6000), depending on what country you are reading this and if you prefer the cheaper CB500F/X or the pricier CBR500R. ABS versions are also available for a "little" extra.

2013 Triumph Daytona 675 and 675R

The Triumph brand has 125 years and suffered quite a lot up to today, but now it is a well established company that makes great bikes. To prove that we have here the new Daytona 675 and 675R.

 

It now has an output of 126bhp @ 12.600rpm, which is 2bhp more then the 2012 model thanks to a wider bore and shorter stroke, and it redlines at 14.400rpm. The torque also increased, so now the value is at 75Nm (55.3lbs/ft).

The most obvious change happens with the exhaust that is now on the right side and also lower to help center the mass. The previous version had it undertail. About the engine, it now has 2 fuel injectors on each of its three cylinders plus titanium valves shaped in a way that helps obtain optimum flow. There is also a six-speed gearbox that features a slipper clutch.

 

The suspension is the latest from KYB and includes a redesigned rear shock. Pirelli Supercorsa tires are fitted as standard, as well as a new switchable ABS system, that has a late-intervention track setting that allows for a little rear wheel drift.

 

The bike frame is shorter, simpler and stronger with slightly steeper steering geometry and a shorter wheelbase, it also has a new die-cast aluminum subframe.

On the Daytona 675R we get an Öhlins TTX rear shock and NIX30 inverted fork. It also gets the latest in Brembo Monobloc brake calipers and several parts in carbon fiber.

2013 Aprilia RSV4 Factory ABS. R version looks matte but no specs yet.

For the 2013 model of the RSV4, Aprilia made several changes in the hardware department to create this version. There is now a three-level dual-channel ABS system from Bosch that can be completely disengaged that works with the new Brembo M430/M50 calipers. Same as those in the Ducati 1199 Panigale R.

 

The Noale company didn't stop there and it even changed the position of the engine in the chassis together with improvements in the ECU and exhaust system making it have a lower center of gravity, increasing the peak horsepower and mid-range torque. The power figure is now at 181bhp and 117Nm (86.3 lbs/ft) of peak torque @ 10,500 rpm.

Also the fuel tank capacity increased from 17liters to 18.5liters to compensate for the raise in fuel consumption. If you want one you will have to pay around €22.790. The

2013 MV Agusta Rivale 800

This is the MV Agusta model that will compete in the hypermotard market. Based on the MV Agusta Brutale 800, the Rivale uses pretty much the same chassis and engine.

Weighs 175kg (325lbs) and produces about 125bhp it also comes with the MVICS electronics package. The rear and side profile do look good and the rear is especially intriguing with an innovative aspect. The front not so much, it looks like a worst version of the Ducati Streetfighter 848.

Expect sales to start from the second half 2013 with a starting price of 11.000€ (14.000$)
